Lehigh Acres Middle School is a middle school located in Lehigh Acres, Florida. It is part of the School District of Lee County. The principal of the school is Ray Bowers, assistant principle Jodie Goebel. The school can also be called (in short form) LAMS (Lehigh Acres Middle School). The school's slogan is "Success is a Choice" it also says that outside of the building. The school's mascot is a Bruin.

Administration

Ray Bowers is originally from Lake County, Florida. Mr. Bowers did his undergrad work at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida and his graduate work at Nova Southeastern University in Bonita Springs, Florida. Mr. Bowers was a classroom teacher for 20 years, teaching chemistry, physics, drivers education, and career education classes. In addition to teaching, Mr. Bowers was the head basketball coach and baseball coach up until he decided to become an administrator. After obtaining his degree in Educational Leadership, Mr. Bowers became the Assistant Principal in charge of discipline and attendance at Naples High School for seven years. He was also the Principal for five consecutive summers at Collier County Summer School. In 2003-2004, Mr. Bowers relocated to Lee County and became the Assistant Principal at North Fort Myers Academy. In May, 2004, Mr. Bowers was assigned to Lehigh Acres Middle School as the Principal. Mr. Bowers is married to Dr. Betty Bowers, the coordinator at Dunbar Community School. They have four lovely children and six active grandchildren.

Jodie Goebel was born and raised in New York. She moved to Lee County about 17 years ago and has been enjoying the sunshine ever since. Ms. Goebel received an undergraduate degree in history with a minor in English from the University of South Florida in 1996. After teaching in the Lee County School District for 8 years, she returned to school and received a masters degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She was appointed as the assistant principal in charge of discipline at Lehigh Acres Middle School in July, 2006.

Uniform

Polo type (short-sleeves or long-sleeves) in any solid color except black. There may not be any logos or designs on the polo shirt unless it is a Lehigh Acres Middle School emblem. Oxford style shirl (short-sleeves or long sleeves) in a pastel color (white, light yellow, light blue, or light pink). There may not be any logos or designs on the shirt unless it is a Lehigh Acres Middle School emblem. Pants, shorts, and skirts – in one of the following colors: Navy Blue, Khaki-Tan, or Sandstone. (No khaki-green will be permitted). BELTS – Plain, simple, solid colored leather, leather-like, or cotton webbed belts must be worn if belt loops are present. No ornamental buckles or buckles with logos, names, or symbols may be worn. No adornments or decorations on the belts. Footwear–Any closed toe shoe is permitted i.e. sneakers, boat shoes, loafers, boots. No mesh or plastic (jelly shoes), or any shoe resembling a slipper can be worn. Shoes must be worn properly: i.e. completely tied or fastened. You can purchase those things above from one of the following stores, Beall's, JC Penney, Dickies, and French Toast.

LAMS has many sports all the teams are name "The Bruins". They have the following sports, Basketball, Cross Country, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field, Tennis, and Golf. Basketball is coached by Coach Bellis. Cross Country is coached by Coach Sirmans. Volleyball is coached by Coach Swofford. Soccer is coached by Coach Stahl. Track & Field is coached by Coach Sirmans. Tennis is coached by Coach Gribble. Golf is coached by Coach Spear.
