Carla Visi

Carla Visi (born August 30, 1970, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil) is a popular Brazilian axé and MPB singer, songwriter, and occasional actress and television show host. She is one of the most popular and best-selling Brazilian female singer of the present, with four albums released with Cheiro de Amor, and three more albums in her solo career. Carla is most often recognized by her powerful voice, charisma and live performances. Her music is also popular in Portugal and Japan.

Biography

Beginnings

Carla started her career as a soloist in bars. In 1990, she was invited to replace Daniella Mercury in Companhia Clic, a band from Bahia which has great success at the time. In 1991 she recorded her first album, "Companhia Clic III", and in 1993 the second one "Cia Clic".

Subsequently, she left the band as she was invited to take the lead vocals in Cheiro de Amor and her career really took of after the first album recorded with Carla performing vocals, "É Demais Meu Rei" (1996), was released. In 1997, the live album "Cheiro de Amor Ao Vivo" was released, achieving sales of 1.5m. The next album, "Me Chama" was recorded by the band in 1998. By the 1999 she decided to start a solo career so recoreded her last album with Cheiro de Amor (another live one) called "Cheiro em Festa".

The security, the force and the refining of the voice of Carla took it to try it new possibilities in partnerships, as when Love recorded with Martinho of the Village the beautiful samba “it is not toy” in the COMPACT DISC “House of Samba 3”, beyond participating of other coletâneas. In 2006, Carla Visi, pregnant woman, make assays of summer in Salvador and liven up the carnival in some cities for Brazil and participate of the sonorous track of the novel “Brazilian Citizen” of the Record Net with a memorable version of “I know that I go to love you” of Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Morais. However as same it affirms” the year of 2006 had the happiness to see to be born my more beautiful workmanship, my first son, Sarah. At this moment, Carla already is ready for a new childbirth: Its 3º alone COMPACT DISC.

Recent Success

It started in September the process of repertoire election. This new work, that counts on the musical direction of the instrumentista and arranjador Letieres Leite, marks the return of the singer to the epicenter of the Axé Music, taking a walk for all the rhythms that involve this genuinamente bahian musical style. “It is a dançante COMPACT DISC, where volume as base claves percussivas that they transform bahian music into one of richest of world and one of the few in constant evolution”, says the singer empolgadíssima with the “new son”. E as is mark registered in all its works, always has one high criterion of quality, as much in the letters of the compositions, as in the arrangements and execution of musics, always congregating a beautiful teams of instrumentistas.
