Cardiff Central bus station is the main
bus transport interchange inCardiff , thecapital city ofWales . With 34 stands, it is the largest bus station in the city and inWales . It is located adjacent toCardiff Central railway station forming a major bus-rail-taxi interchange. It has 8 concourses lettered A-F and W with each concourse having numbered stands. Bus company offices, toilets and anewsagent are located at stand A. Eating and drinking facilities such as aBurger King , as well as other shops, face the stands on Central Square.Taxi rank s are located on both sides of the station.Redevelopment
The Station is to be redeveloped in 2008 [http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/news/wales-news/2007/11/15/relief-as-bus-one-way-plan-goes-on-hold-91466-20108766/] . Demolition of the old terminal buildings (between stand A and Wood Street stands) started on
11 January 2008 , from which time services that usually stop at the terminal buildings: 8 Cardiff Bay, 9/9A Sports Village and 92/93/94 Penarth & Barry will no longer serve the stops and will instead pick up at Castle Street and Westgate Street. As of 6th May, Stands A & B at the bus station will close for demolition of the terminal buildings and many services will be moved from the bus station to St. Mary Street indefinetely during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays.
