Markku Laakso (b. Lappeenranta 1978) is a Finnish conductor.
He has studied conducting in Russia at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, where his teacher was Leonid Korchmar, and in Finland at the Sibelius Academy with Leif Segerstam. He has also studied at the Vienna conservatory and taken part in masterclasses with Erwin Acel, Jorma Panula and Atso Almila.
Markku Laakso has conducted many orchestras in Russia, Spain, Poland, Austria and Finland. He also holds a degree in violin performance from the Sibelius Academy.
