- Iraq Super League 2004-05
The Iraq Super League of 2004-2005 kicked off on October 20, 2004. Due to the War in Iraq, many games were suspended during duration, postponed, or canceled.
The 35 teams were split into four groups. At the end of the group stage, the top 3 teams from each group (a total of 12 teams), advanced to the second round, while the bottom 3 in each group were demoted to Iraq's second division league. In the end, 11 teams were relegated.
In the second round, the 12 teams were split into four groups of 3, with teams playing a home and away against each team in its group respectively. The top team in each of the four groups moved on into the playoffs. The four remaining teams played its opponent a home and an away match to determine who plays for the championship game; a one match event held in Baghdad.
