Malaysian Grand Prix since the1995 Malaysian Grand Prix , aFormula Holden event. This was the first time theGrand Prix of Malaysia was a Formula 1 event.Michael Schumacher returned toFormula One having recovered from his broken leg, and replacedMika Salo at Ferrari. Immediately after the race the two Ferrari's were disqualified due to an infringement on their barge-boards. This meant thatMika Häkkinen was handed the championship by default andJohnny Herbert almost scored back to back wins. However, Ferrari appealed against the FIA's decision in court and both drivers were subsequentely reinstated. [cite web
