Description
Small frog, snout-to-vent length is about 2 cm or little more. Yellowish brown at dorsal side, with symmetric—arrow shaped—mark and sometimes a narrow light vertebral line.
Habitat and Distribution
Frog of primary and secondary forest, sometimes found around human habitation, such as paddy fields and home garden. Lays about 20 eggs in permanent pools or marshy areas.
Several neighboring frogs make a chorus after dark, with a voice resemble to cricket. Diets consists of ants, termites and many other tiny insects.
This frog is endemic to Java, from West Java (Banten, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cibodas, Lembang, Bandung, Mt. Papandayan, Mt Ciremai, Kuningan, to Leuweung Sancang and Pangandaran), Central Java (Gombong, Wonosobo) to East Java (Tuban, Tengger Mts).
