- Uriangato
Uriangato is a city and its surrounding municipality of the same name located in the extreme southern part of the state of
Guanajuato , adjacent to the border with the state ofMichoacán , inMexico . It lies directly east of the city ofMoroleón , and is a part of the Uriangato-Moroleón metropolitan area that includes the two municipalities. The city serves as the municipal seat of the municipality. At the Mexican census of 2005 the city had a population of 46,586 inhabitants, while the municipality had a population of 53,077. The municipality has a relatively small area of 113.8 km² (43.94 sq mi). Uriangato was founded in 1604, and earned city status in 1812. It is one of the leading manufacturing cities in the textile industry in Mexico.ee also
