Kasseh

Kasseh is a historic town in Port Loko District located in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone with a population of 3,386 (2006 estimate). The Temne make up by far the largest ethnic group in the town and the Temne language is widely spoken throughout the town. The small town of Kasseh is widely known throghout Sierra Leone and most part of West Africa for being the birthplace of one of West Africa's greatest indigenous leader and Sierra Leone's greatest warrior, Bai Bureh, who lead the people of the Northern province uprising against British rule in 1898 in Sierra Leone.
