Eliana e-lia-na is pronounced Eh-lee-AH-nah. It is of Hebrew origin, literally translated as "My God has answered me" Fact|date=October 2008. In Arabic, it is translated as "the Bright" Fact|date=October 2008. The name may also be related to the Greek "Helios" Fact|date=October 2008, and the name may thus mean "daughter of the sun". Eliana may derive from the Latin family name "Aelianus" Fact|date=October 2008.
