The 65 Reserve Infantry Battalion is an Infantry Battalion in the Irish Reserve Defence Forces (RDF).

Unit heritage

The 65 RIB was formed on 1st Oct 2005 during the reorganisation of the Irish Reserve, the new battalion was formed solely from the 7th Infantry Battalion F.C.A. which was demobilised on this date and the entire unit was stood down. The Unit was then formed up as the 65 RIB in a ceremony at McKee Barracks.

Locations and Operations

It is composed of three Rifle Companies - A (Swords), B (Navan), and C (Kells) - HQ Company (North Dublin) and Support Company (West Dublin).

The Battalion Headquarters is in McKee Barracks, Dublin.

It is linked to the Regular 5th Infantry Battalion and is part of the 2nd Eastern Brigade.
