Ingor Ánte Áilu Gaup, also known as Iŋgor Ántte Áilu Gaup (b. 1960 in
Kautokeino ,Norway ) is aSami actor, composer, and folk musician (joik .)Gaup was an early part of the rock group "Ivnniguinn", which, among other things, created arrangements of poems by
Ailo Gaup , whose work, the musical "Våre vidder II", was presented at the Kautokeino Theater and at cultural festivals inNord-Norge . This piqued an interest in theater, which lead to the establishment ofBeaivváš Sámi Theatre , which he has been part of since 1983.He has also had smaller roles in the Norwegian film "
The Brothers Dal and the Legend of Atlantis " (1994), and also contributed to such musical publications as Jan Garbarek's "I took up the runes" (1990). Together withNils-Aslak Valkeapää , he released "Sápmi lottážan" (1993). Since 1993, he has been part ofaccordionist Gabriel Fliflet's groupFri Flyt , who has toured the country together withKnut Reiersrud performing the jazzjoik "Saman i gaman" .He has performed "Jasat" with the Sami theater in
Kiruna and theSouthern Sámi Theater . Gaup received theNordlys award in 2003, and participated in theNordlys Festival in 2004 withSolveig Kringlebotn . Together withKristin Mellem , he released "Jeđđehus" (2004), which was nominated for theEdvard award in (2005). His newest album includes the musicians Svein Schultz, Kenneth Ekornes, and Stein Austrud.References
