The John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center is a multi-purpose arena in Buies Creek, North Carolina, currently under construction. It will be completed in 2008. The arena will be located on the campus of Campbell University and will host the schools basketball, volleyball, and wrestling programs. The John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center is a part of the expansion of Campbell's athletic facilities that is growing to include a new football stadium and a soon expansion to existing Taylor Field home to Fighting Camel Baseball. It will replace Carter Gymnasium is the second smallest gymnasium in Division I Basketball for it seats just 947, second only to Charleston Southern's Fieldhouse which holds 750. Carter Gym was host to the longest high school basketball game in the state of North Carolina in 1964 when Boone Trail High School faced Angier High School in a 13 overtime thriller.
