Gábor Kállai (born 1959) is a Hungarian
chess Grandmaster. His Elo rating on1 January 2006 was 2504.In several Team Championship he won the gold medal: in
Hungary withMTK-VM and withMiskolci SSC , inSwitzerland with the team ofBern , inFrance with the team ofStrasbourg . For the latest he is playing already for 15 years.He has written nine books, published in multiple languages. The "Basic Chess Openings" is his most popular book, published in Hungarian, English, Italian, German and French. Since 2005 he has a chess column in the Hungarian daily newspaper
