The Timeless Tour was the first headlining tour by country singer Martina McBride. The tour was in support of her album Timeless, an album of classic country standards.

Tour History

The Timeless Tour was officially announced on Billboard.com and McBride's official website on November 3, 2005. [http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/search/google/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001433630] It was the firs time she would be touring in nearly a year. The tour was McBride's first headling tour and she usually played at theatres and small arenas to about crowds of anywhere between 4,000-10,000 people. The tour received excellent reviews and was considered a big success for Martina.

The Show

The show itself was broken up into two parts. The first part featured McBride singing selections from the Timeless album, wearing an elegant vintage-style gold cocktail dress. She sang tweleve songs from that album. For the last few songs of the first set, she wore a long black-sequined evening.

After a short intermission she returned wearing black pants embellished with rhinestones, a black velvet blazer and black stiletto boots. The second part of her set emphasized on some of her biggest hits including "This One's For The Girls", "Concrete Angel" and "Independence Day." Martina also did something unique that most entertainers wouldn't dare to do, she took requests from the audience and usually ended up taking 3 requests in total. Songs varied from night to night but some requested songs were "Cheap Whiskey," "I Love You" and "Blessed".

After "Independence Day", Martina returned with a one-song encore. The song was Over The Rainbow, which she sang a cappella until an acoustic guitar joined her halfway through the song.

In all, Martina sang 29 songs and played for nearly three hours.
