He was a 2nd round selection (43rd overall pick) in the 1967 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals out of Western Michigan University [cite web |url=http://www.databasefootball.com/draft/draftyear.htm?yr=1967&lg=NFL |title=1967 NFL Player Draft |accessdate=2008-06-10 |publisher=databasefootball.com |date= ] . Rowe played 9 seasons (1967-1975) in the NFL, all for the Cardinals. He went to one Pro Bowl during his 9 year career.
