.post is a proposed top-level domain for the internet, submitted to ICANN for approval as a sponsored TLD. It would be restricted to the use of national and regional postal services [ [http://www.icann.org/tlds/post1/ TLD application for .post] ] , and private businesses that provide similar services. It is sponsored by the Universal Postal Union, an international organisation based in Bern, Switzerland. As of January 2008, approval and implementation has not yet happened, overshooting the deadline of 2005.
