[ [http://www.rte.ie/sport/2007/0330/kilkenny.html Kilkenny City 1-1 Shelbourne] → www.rte.ie] Brophy's season at Shelbourne was marred after being on the wrong end of a heavy challenge in a match against afc|Kilkenny City at Tolka Park on May 28 2007. The resulting tackle saw Brophy suffering a single fracture to his leg ruling him out of action for 4 months. Brophy returned to fitness the following September but struggled to break back into the Shels first team despite scoring on numerous occasions for Shelbourne's under-21 side. Brophy was released by fc|Shelbourne at the end of the 2007 season. [ [http://www.shelbournefc.com/news.php?id=792 Player Update] → www.shelbournefc.com] Brophy made 13 league and cup appearances during the 2007 Season for Shelbourne.
