Mohammad was born and raised in
Cardiff , going to school atGlyn Derw High School . Mohammad joined
BBC Wales in 1997 as a reporter, initially inNorth Wales for "BBC Wales Today ".Mohammad's love of sports meant he presented items from Wales and overseas, including the
Commonwealth Games , theRyder Cup and numerousFA Cup finals. He is also anchor for "Wales on Saturday", BBC Wales' television sports results programme, and presents the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year Award.Mohammad is now a main presenter for "
BBC Wales Today ", can often be heard presenting onBBC Radio Wales , and, as a fluentWelsh language speaker, makes regular appearances onBBC Radio Cymru .He has presented "
Children in Need ", and has even made guest appearances on the 2005 and 2007 Christmas episodes of "Doctor Who ".Radio
Mohammad built up a regular following on Saturday evenings on
BBC Radio Wales with the "Extra Time" sports phone-in. Mohammad andOwen Money took calls from football and rugby fans at 18:00, but have now been replaced byBBC Radio Five Live 's6-0-6 . However, Mohammad and Money now team up on the "Extra Time Quiz," a spin-off from the phone-in. In February 2008, Mohammad took over from veteran BBC Wales
Bob Humphrys as leader presenter for sports. However, onJuly 23 just 16 days before he was due to attend the2008 Summer Olympics to present BBC Wales's coverage from the games, he resigned form BBC Wales to become an independent presenter.Jason announced on
29 August , that that was his last day onWales Today , but he will continue his roles on television and radio for BBC Wales in sport at present.References
