The Shipyard has a total land area of 17 hectares and is located within a natural cove which helps protect the facilities from adverse weather conditions and strong winds brought about by Northeast monsoon, which usually occurs from November to April.Fact|date=October 2007

The company started out in the year 2000 and offers a wide variety of services for tankers, self-propelled barges, inter-island passenger and commercial vessels, ship transport vessels, military vessels and other marine vessels of up to DWT|10,000|metric|first=yes. Herma Shipyard also offers a range of industrial services from light industrial equipment and machine parts to customized ship outfitting. The Chairman and CEO is Herminio S. Esguerra.
