- Health and Wellbeing Directorate
Scottish Government Health and Wellbeing Directorates are a set of directorates of the Scottish Government. They are responsible for the Scottish National Health Service, as well as policies on the development and implementation of health and community care. The Scottish Executive Health Department (SEHD) was created in 1999 from the former Scottish Office Health Department (previously part of the Scottish Office Home and Health Department). The separate departments in the Scottish Government were abolished in 2007.
The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing is Nicola Sturgeon and she is assisted by the Minister for Public Health, Shona Robison, and by the Minister for Communities and Sport, Stewart Maxwell. [ [http://www.scotland.gov.uk/About/Ministers Scotland.gov.uk- Ministers] ]
