Sila Lat ( _th. ศิลาลาด) is a district ("Amphoe") in the northwestern part of Sisaket Province, northeastern Thailand.

History

The minor district ("King Amphoe") was established on July 1 1997, when four "tambon" were split off from Rasi Salai district [cite journal|journal=Royal Gazette|volume=114|issue=Special 51 ง|pages=18|title=ประกาศกระทรวงมหาดไทย เรื่อง แบ่งเขตท้องที่อำเภอราษีไศล จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ ตั้งเป็นกิ่งอำเภอศิลาลาด|url=http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2540/E/051/18.PDF|date=June 25 1997|language=Thai] .

Following a decision of the Thai government on May 15 2007, all of the 81 minor districts were to be upgraded to full districts [cite news|url=http://www.manager.co.th/Politics/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=9500000055625|publisher=Manager Online|title=แถลงผลการประชุม ครม. ประจำวันที่ 15 พ.ค. 2550|language=Thai] . Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise) Rasi Salai of Sisaket Province, Phon Sai, Nong Hi and Phanom Phrai of Roi Et Province, and Maha Chana Chai of Yasothon Province.

Administration

The district is subdivided into 4 subdistricts ("tambon"), which are further subdivided into 44 villages ("muban"). There are no municipal ("thesaban") areas, and 4 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
