Thanet Bombers

Thanet Bombers

The Thanet Bombers Australian Rules Football Club is Kent's first and only Australian Rules Football Club, formed in 2006. The club is currently inactive due to a poor level of interest in playing the game in east Kent at this time. The team participated in the Aussie Rules UK National League for the first and only time in 2007. The club had previously been known as the Bombardiers.

The players sported black guernseys with a red sash, black shorts and socks. They played home games at the Recreation ground, home of Thanet Wanderers RUFC.

The Bombers achieved their first ever victory on 30th June 2007 when they defeated the Brighton Black Swans 11.3 (69) - 9.9 (63).
