village built in the mid-20th century inKent ,England . The village lies at the top of theNorth Downs , east of the road between Gravesend andWrotham . Its name comes from thepublic house situated on the main road, which in turn commemorates the sea battle during theWar of the Spanish Succession (Battle of Vigo Bay ).There is one primary school in Vigo; [http://www.vigo.kent.sch.uk/ Vigo Village Primary School] . The current headteacher is R. Barber. The school boasts many clubs and activities including: recorders, choir, football, netball, chess, country dancing and drama.
The village of Vigo was built on the site of a disused Second World War army camp, relics of which are still unearthed in residents' gardens.
