He played several more years in the IHL with theMinnesota Moose , Italy withHC Bolzano andAsiago Hockey AS ,Germany in the DEL withKaufbeuren Eagles , and England in the BISL with theManchester Storm before retiring after the 2001 season. Frank Pietrangelo is probably best remembered for his one play in the Stanley Cup playoffs when he dove to his left to make a dramatic glove save against Peter Stastny, who was shooting toward an open net, in first period of Game 6 of Pittsburgh's first-round playoff series at New Jersey. The play became known in Pittsburgh as "The Save," Pietrangelo's stop helped the Penguins to a 4-3 win and force a seventh game. Pietrangelo then shut out the Devils 4-0 in Game 7.
