Career

Millet started swimming in 1991 at the age of 9 and won her first medal in 1992 at the sub junior nationals. Initially she was coached by her father at the Dolphin club in Chennai. When she showed a lot of promise by winning 4 Gold Medals as a 12yr old at the Senior National Championships held in Goa, her family shifted to Bangalore to focus on her swimming career[1]. She then progressed on to represent India at various international competitions[2][3]. It culminated with her representing India in Olympics at the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney after training under coach Pradeep Kumar at the Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre[1]. She is the only Indian sports person to have won 14 gold medals ever at the 1999 national games held at Manipur and win the prime ministers "Best Sportswoman" award twice.

She had retired from a professional swimming career which spanned 16 years with over 600 gold medals at various domestic and international competitions. After her retirement, she has been working as swimming instructor at a variety of clubs in Bangalore such as Catholic Club.
