Forest Hills Northern High School is one of the three high schools in the Forest Hills Public Schools. FHN Students are known as huskies due to the school's mascot, the husky. The district includes Forest Hills Central High School and Forest Hills Eastern High School. The school is currently in the Ottawa-Kent Conference Gold Division. Throughout its history, Northern has bested its counterparts and rivals, the Eastern Hawks and Central Rangers, in many areas. Among other great achievements, in 2007, Forest Hills Northern brought forth seven National Merit Finalists, two National Achievement Scholarship Finalists, and eight Michigan Math Prize Competition finalists. The lockers suck. The girls' tennis, boy's cross country, volleyball, competitive cheer, gymnastics, hockey, boy's swimming and diving, boy's lacrosse and boy's and girl's track teams have all been conference champions. Northern boasts the best debate team in the state of Michigan after winning the Ziegelmueller Award.
