Failed Disney Television Series

The Walt Disney Company is known for its prestigious animated from the last seventy years. This is the same company that went against the odds and made the first feature-length animated film of all time, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Following this film, a number of other successful animated features were made as well, including "Cinderella", "The Little Mermaid", and "The Lion King". Before his death, Walt Disney stated that he did not want any sequels to be made from his films, with the exception of Fantasia. Since then, there have been numerous sequels made, uncluding "", "Tarzan II", and "Mulan II". Some of these sequels appear to be compilation of stories that appear to be episodes of failed television series.

Failed TV Pilots

Some direct-to-DVD sequels serve as pilots for television series. While some work, others do not.

Atlantis: Milo's Return

' was released as direct-to-video sequel to ' in 2003. The sequel consists of three episode-length stories that were produced before the show, "Team Atlantis" was canceled. There is one episode that was not produced, but written, that involved a crossover with the series "Gargoyles".

The stories' lengths and the poor animated quality led mean fans and critics to believe that the movie was just an excuse to premiere episodes of a failed television series.
