The Lamproom Theatre

The Lamproom Theatre is a theatre situated on Westgate Street, Barnsley, in South Yorkshire, England. Four theatre companies are based at the Lamproom; the Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE), the Lamplyters, The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company, and The Lamproom Theatre Company.

Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble

The Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE) is for 12-21 year olds, and presents two shows a year. The ensemble has presented a wide selection of shows, from Gilbert and Sullivan to Rock Opera. "West Side Story" was put on in November 2007.

The Lamproom Theatre Company

The Lamproom Theatre Company is for 21 year-olds and upwards. Previous productions include:

*"An Inspector Calls"
*"Turns"
*"Perfect Pitch"
*"Dreamers"
*"Abigail's Party"

The productions of "Turns" and "Dreamers" were both award winning productions.fact|date=February 2008

The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company

The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company is for 21 year-olds and upwards, and performs musical productions twice a year.
