"Cantharidus" is a genus of sea snail, a marine gastropod molluscs of the family Trochidae, the top shells.

Distribution

This genus is distributed in the Pacific, with many species endemic to New Zealand.

hell description

These top shells are large, brightly coloured or patterned, with a tall narrowly conical spire, and a simple, highly iridescent aperture.
