The London Double Header began in 2004 and opens what was the Zurich Premiership and is now the Guinness Premiership. The Guinness Premiership is the top rugby union league in England.
Two games are played consecutively, involving the four best teams from London - based on their league position in the previous season. The matches are allocated as a home game for one team in each match.
The 2008 London Double Header was played at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 6th September 2008. London Irish beat defending Guinness Premership champions Wasps 26-14 and Harlequins defeated Saracens 24-21.
