Tom Kyte is a writer and journalist. Kyte was born
June 4 ,1947 inColliers Wood , South London, son of a leather worker and a housewife. A year after Kyte's birth the family moved to acouncil house inMitcham Surrey. He attended state primary and secondary schools in the local area.Career
Kyte left school at the age of 16 to work in the
Inland Revenue . Two years later he joined theFinancial Times where he was responsible for calculating investment statistics for all the stocks listed on the newspaper's prices page.He began his journalistic career at aged twenty three specialising in writing investment comment and features. He subsequently joined the
Daily Telegraph where he wrote the newspaper's daily investment advice column. In1986 he moved on to assist in the launch ofThe Independent , of which he later became City Editor. During his time as a columnist Kyte wrote on major City deals, including IPO's, take-overs and even bankruptcies.After twenty years in financial journalism, Kyte became a partner in [http://www.brunswickgroup.com Brunswick Group] , a fledgling
public relations company, helping it to develop into the leading Londonfinancial public relations consultancy.
