In December 2007, it was announced that she was fired from the role, and was replaced by Budig. The producers of AMC decided to let Singh out of her contract in order to bring back the original actress, which sparked a firestorm of controversy because of how Singh was treated and let go. Fans were appalled by the commercials that ABC put out calling Budig the "Real" Greenlee.cite news| title=Budig Returns to Role of Greenlee|publisher=soapcentral.com|accessdate=2007-12-18|url=http://www.soapcentral.com/amc/news/2007/1210-budig_singh.php] cite news|title=Soap Opera Digest, Sabine Singh interview |publisher="Soap Opera Digest"|date=2007] She last aired on "All My Children" on January 15, 2008.
