"Pseudomonas ficuserectae" is a fluorescent, Gram-negative, soil bacterium that causes bacterial leaf spot on a Japanese fig ("Ficus erecta") [cite journal |author=Goto, M |title="Pseudomonas ficuserectae" sp. nov., the causal agent of bacterial leaf spot of "Ficus erecta" Thunb. |journal=Int J Syst Bacteriol |volume=33 |pages=546–550 |year=1983 ] , from which it derives its name.
