radio station s owned byNassau Broadcasting and licensed toHenniker, New Hampshire . "99 and 104.9 Frank FM" , as it is referred to on air is anclassic hits formatted station with its studio located in Hooksett. In early 2007, Nassau combined its two oldies stations and thus 99.1 WNNH simulcasts on 104.9 WLKZ in Wolfboro.99.1 WNNH originally went on the air in October 1989 from the Pat's Peak Ski Area in
Henniker, New Hampshire . Studios were located on South Street,Concord, NH . The station's original owner was Clark Schmidt who programmed several Boston FM stations in the 1970s including WEEI-FM 103.3 (nowWODS ) and WBZ-FM 106.7 (nowWMJX ). In the early days, the station marketed itself as the "oldies station for Manchester, NH", even though it was a rimshot signal into Manchester, and practically inuadible to the south of Manchester. In its early days, WNNH had a very slick sound for a small market station complete with PAMS jingles. The station had a very diverse playlist- deeper than most oldies stations. In 1994, Schmidt tried to purchase
WJYY 105.5 FM in Concord, NH and its (then) satellite station, WRCI (now WTPL) 107.7 in Hillsboro, NH from Empire Broadcasting Partners, with the idea of putting WNNH on 105.5 to reinforce its signal in Concord. Empire Broadcasting owned a group of radio stations in Upstate New York and Northern New England (includingWGY 810 AM inSchenectady, NY ). Unfortunately, they had overextended themselves and went bankrupt. The bankruptcy court ruled that Empire Radio Parters could not be reorganized and they ordered the stations sold at auction. The other bidder was a compay called RadioWorks. The court selected RadioWorks as the winner of the auction. As of December 2007 the station was rebranded as 99 and 104.9 Frank FM.External links
