John Kroger is a professor at
Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland and candidate for Attorney General of theU.S. state ofOregon in 2008.Kroger is a graduate of
Yale College andHarvard Law School and served in theUnited States Marine Corps . Before teaching law, he was a Deputy Policy Director ofBill Clinton 's 1992 presidential campaign, legislative assistant to U. S. RepresentativeTom Foley (D–WA) and U. S. SenatorChuck Schumer (D-NY), senior policy analyst at the U.S. Treasury Department, and a federal prosecutor. As a prosecutor, Kroger won the Director's Award from then-Attorney GeneralJanet Reno , worked on the emergency response to theSeptember 11, 2001 attacks on theWorld Trade Center , and served on the Justice Department'sEnron Task Force. He lives in Portland.
