civil parish of Boxley in the Maidstone District ofKent ,England lies below the slope of theNorth Downs , four miles (6.4km) NE ofMaidstone town. The parish has a population of 7144 (2001 census), and includes the settlements of Boxley itself, Grove Green, most of Weavering Street, Sandling, and the southern extremities ofWalderslade and Lordswood at the top ofBlue Bell Hill .Despite being so close to Maidstone and two motorways, the village is surrounded by woodland, and still retains the village feel. The ruins of Boxley
Abbey are located here. The parish church is dedicated to All Saints.Within the parish are the
Museum of Kent Life , and Vinters ValleyNature Reserve . A nineteenth centurygranary from Boxley was dismantled and re-erected at theMuseum .Boxley FC
