Ingle took over the role of
Edward Quartermaine in 1993 and continued until December 2003, when the show dropped him from contract to recurring status. Without a contract to keep him at GH, Ingle was free to court other offers and accepted the contract role ofMickey Horton , as a recast for the retiring John Clarke, on thesoap opera , "Days of Our Lives ". Once there, he became part of alove triangle story involving Bonnie (Judi Evans Luciano ) and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers ), a far cry from the "old man" that some brass at GH reputed the character of Edward to be. Ingle was also seen on HBO's "Big Love ".Ingle returned to the role of Edward in 2006, but this time without his onscreen wife, actress
