The Carpatho-Rusyn Society (C-RS) is an American
nonprofit organization promoting Rusyn culture in theUnited States as well in the homeland in eastCentral Europe .Established in 1994 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania , C-RS has over 1,700 members worldwide. John Righetti has been its president and spokesman since its inception. The group's flagship publication is "The New Rusyn Times".From 1998 until 2007, C-RS and The Andy Warhol Museum presented an annual festival celebrating Rusyn culture alongside the art of
Andy Warhol , one of the most influential 20th century American artists and himself of Carpatho-Rusyn descent.In 2004, the C-RS purchased the historic former
St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral (Pittsburgh) inMunhall, Pennsylvania and plans to convert it into the nation's first National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural Center.See also
