Alex Schoenauer (born May 5, 1976 in El Bolson, Argentina) is a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He is currently fighting for the Los Angeles Anacondas of the International Fight League and resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bio

At the age of 15, he left his native Argentina and moved to Idaho, where he lived with his grandfather and attended high school. After graduating from Montana State with a degree in engineering, Schoenauer worked with a manufacturing company back in Idaho. After a year, he decided to put his other training to work, which he gained at the United States Coast Guard Captains School, and worked as a captain of private yachts, sailing as far north as Alaska.

MMA

In his final year in college, Schoenauer took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He moved to Las Vegas in 2004, vowing to give his new venture six committed months. Two years and more than a dozen professional fights later, including an appearance in The Ultimate Fighter 1 , Schoenauer finds himself as a light heavyweight of the Los Angeles Anacondas.

Outside MMA

When not training, Schoenauer is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys fishing, rattlesnake hunting and river rafting.
