Willamette University School of Education is a master’s degree granting program at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, United States. The school offers a master of arts in teaching degree and runs the Center for Excellence in Teaching program, or CET. Center for Excellence in Teaching

Retrieved on April 25 2007.] These courses are designed to provide class work needed for teachers attempting to earn their Continuing Teaching License, earn a reading endorsement towards Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) requirements, an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement, and other professional courses for teachers and administrators. Additionally, the school offers the New Directions in Educational Leadership designed for school administrators to obtain licensing. MAT

Willamette’s Master of Arts in Teaching program has both a full-time and part-time option. Retrieved on April 25 2007.] Within these programs, there are four focuses of curriculum: early childhood, elementary for grades 3 to 8, middle level for grades 5 to 9, and secondary for grades 7 to 12. The full-time program lasts ten months and includes a year long placement in a public school. The part-time program is a two-year option named Aspire. Willamette’s School of Education also offers the Oregon Writing Project that teaches graduate students, teachers, and pre-college students.
