Martin Young (born July 5, 1947) is a television reporter and interviewer.
Born in Glasgow, he attended
Dulwich College andCaius College , Cambridge where he was President of the Marlowe Society and a member ofFootlights .Young began his career as a researcher for
Border Television in 1969, before becoming a reporter/presenter and interviewer forTyne Tees Television in 1970 and moving on to BBC Look North. He joined Nationwide in 1973. He also worked on 'Newsnight' and 'Panorama'. In 1980 he helped to found the award-winning programme 'Rough Justice' which led to the release of five people on murder and serious assault charges. He has worked onBBC Radio 4 , appeared as a guest on the first three series ofHave I Got News For You " and is now a Media Trainer.
