Currently located in Reisterstown at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Reisterstown Road, Franklin High has made two moves in its long history. It was established as the Franklin Academy as a private school. The school went public in 1848 and added the high school in 1874.
When it was established, Franklin High school was situated on Cockeys Mill Road where the Reisterstown branch of the Baltimore County Public Library is now located.
