TV station on channel 49 in north-northwestmetro Atlanta .Affiliate d withJCTV and licensed toMarietta, Georgia , the station's transmitter is atopSweat Mountain , northwest ofAtlanta . It was W55BM untilMarch 2008 , and has had no other callsigns since being permitted in1988 . The station is owned by theTrinity Broadcasting Network , the parent company of JCTV, and is one of very few TBN-owned analog station to carry programming other than TBN.Originally airing The Box, a
music video jukebox , it later became a translator station for TBN-ownedWHSG-TV 63. The station is now an affiliate of JCTV, mostly airingChristian rock music videos. This programming is also seen on one of WHSG'sdigital subchannel s:virtual channel 63.3, via RF channel 44.The station was analog TV channel 55 with 11.6kW ERP and used an
omnidirectional antenna . In2007 , the station wentoff-air , possibly due to the use of channel 55 byMediaFLO . It obtained aconstruction permit to move to channel 49 with an extremelydirectional antenna , aimed southeast towardSandy Springs andNorth Atlanta . The maximum ERP in that direction is 48.3kW, and the nearly-circular coverage area centers on Sandy Springs, and ironically covers much less of Marietta. It also had anapplication to modify this permit toflash-cut as itsdigital TV channel (as all channels above 51 are being revoked from the TVbandplan ), but the FCC dismissed this, possibly due to a request from TBN.External links
