HOF=Elvis Vernell "Toast" Patterson (born
October 21 ,1960 inBryan, Texas ) was anAmerican football defensive back who played ten seasons in the NFL, mainly for theNew York Giants . He played inSuper Bowl XXI for the Giants, but he was waived the following season after being burned by theChicago Bears in the opening week (Hence his nickname "Toast"). He then played for theSan Diego Chargers ,Los Angeles Raiders andDallas Cowboys . He retired after playing inSuper Bowl XXVIII as a part of the Cowboys' winning team. After his successful career as an NFL defensive back he soon found success in coaching. In 2005 Elvis coached the Lakewood Cougars(Featuring: rising stars, Connor Grantham, Mike Arend, Tom Dehart and Pat "Frank the Tank" McCann) to a winning 5 and 2 season. Patterson later went to say although he loved playing football he found his greatest sense of happiness coaching the Lakewood Cougars.
