Steven Earl ("Steve") Riddick (born
September 18 ,1951 ) is an American athlete and winner of the gold medal in 4x100 meter relay at the1976 Summer Olympics .At the
Montreal Olympics, Steven Riddick was eliminated in the semifinal of the 100 meter race and ran the anchor leg in the gold medal winning American 4x100 m relay team.Riddick was a member of American 4x100 meter relay team, which won the
1977 IAAF World Cup with a newworld record of 38.03. He was also a member of American 4x100 m relay team, which won the1979 Pan American Games and placed second in 1979 IAAF World Cup.After his athletics career, Riddick was a coach in
Norfolk State University . Some of his most famous students includeMarion Jones ,Tim Montgomery ,Myriam Léonie Mani ,Aziz Zakari ,Renward Wells andTonique Williams-Darling . All but Williams-Darling have either tested positive and/or been involved in sports drugs scandals.Money Laundering & Bank Fraud Scandal
In 2006, Riddick was indicted and arrested on fraud charges for his alleged involvement in a
money laundering scheme. His former student, Montgomery, is also a defendant in the case and Montgomery's former girlfriend, 5-time Olympic medalist sprinterMarion Jones , was also allegedly involved in the operation in some form.
