List of characters in the Scream Trilogy

The following is a complete list of characters from the famous horror film trilogy of "Scream" with Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3. It includes characters who appear in all three films as well as characters who only appear in one of the films.

All Films

Sidney Prescott

Sidney Prescott is the main protagonist and heroine of the trilogy, managing to defeat (as well as kill) the serial killers known as "Ghostface". In the first film, her mother, Maureen was murdered by "Billy Loomis" and the help of "Stu Macher" because, Billy's father had been having an affair with Maureen, due to this, his parents made a divorce. They framed Cotton Weary to make it look as though he raped and murdered her, as he was actually having an affair with her (supposedly because Maureen continuesly seduced him). Exactly one year later, Billy and Stu donned the disguise of Ghostface and planned to gain more revenge by murdering Sidney, her friends and family as well as anybody else who got in their way. In the second film, she started to go to college and made a new boyfriend, Derek Feldman and she had to stop the serial killer, Ghostface again (who this time was both Billy Loomis's mother, Debbie Salt who wanted revenge for how Sidney killed her son and employed the psychopath Mickey Alterini who posed as one of Sidney's friends). In the third film she was taken to the set of "Stab 3" inwhich she had to solve the murders of the cast in the way and order that they are meant to in the film. Sidney is portrayed by Neve Campbell.

Gale Weathers

Gale is a news reporter for the town of Woodsboro. Weathers has displayed a negative attitude toward many of the characters in the film, in order to get a story or gain publicity. Gale had a love relationship with Deputy Dwight "Dewey" Riley. But throughout the films, and particularly during Scream 3, Gale turned out to be kind hearted. She has helped defeat the killers in the Scream series, and has survived all three of the films. Gale is portrayed by Courteney Cox.

Dwight "Dewey" Riley

Dwight Riley or more commonly known as Dewey, is a kind, yet dopey police officer working with the Woodsboro Police Department. He manages to survive all the films and he has a love relationship with Gale Weathers. He was the brother of Tatum Riley, Sidney's best friend in the first film. However, she is killed off. A stab on the back by Stuart "Stu" Macher led Dewey permanently disabled and no longer qualified to work as a law enforcement officer. Dewey was portrayed by David Arquette.
