Plautilla Nelli

Sister Plautilla Nelli (1523- 1587) was an Italian woman painter during the Renaissance period, as well as a nun from Florence. She entered the monastery of Santa Caterina on Via Larga. Attributed to her are a "Marriage of St. Catherine" in Florentine Accademia and a "Christ & Apostles with Martha reproaching Mary". She is mentioned by Vasari in his second edition. She painted in the style of Fra Bartolomeo.
