It currently educates in grades 6-8. Roosevelt was built on a large city block. The school consists of about 30 classrooms including two bungalows, two gyms, a library, and an auditorium.

History

The school was established on September 3rd 1877 as Lobos Avenue Primary School, and in 1888 became Richmond Primary School. Subsequently the name changed to Roosevelt School. The current school building opened on November 9, 1930 as Roosevelt Junior High School. Academics

San Francisco schools, though highly performing in 2008, have an issue with black students falling behind their white peers. Newspaper

Roosevelt Middle's newspaper, "Highlights", won the American Scholastic Press Association's first place award for best middle-school paper in 1996, 1997, 2002 and 2003.

Events
