Institute of Company Secretaries of India

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is an institute which conducts examination for company secretaries in India. The post of company secretary is mandatory for public limited companies listed in Indian stock exchanges. Company secretaries enforce various laws related to companies enacted by the Government of India.

Generally a person must possess a bachelors degree for appearing for a company secretary examination.

It is not necessary to have a Graduate Degree to appear for the Company Secretary Exam in India. If you are in the first year of your degree college(for eg: FY Bcom), you can appear for the foundation level of the examination.However, they do require a 15 month practical training completed after the final level so as to consider your degree complete.

"' According to companies act 1956, every company with a paid up capital of Rs2 crores or more is compulsorily required to appoint whole time a company secretary, who is a member of the institute. to become member after qualifying final level the student has to undergo a training of 15 months in the field. It is a very high rewarding course.
